Battery replacement

Car battery delivery, installed

Not a box on your doorstep. The battery arrives with a tech who installs it, checks the charging system and takes the old one away.

Why delivery should include the install

You can have a battery shipped, but then you're the one lifting forty pounds of lead and acid into a tight engine bay, finding the right sockets, keeping the car's memory alive, and figuring out what to do with the old one. Many newer cars also need the new battery registered with the computer, which takes a scan tool most people don't own.

Car battery delivery from a local tech covers the whole thing. The battery comes matched to your vehicle, it goes in correctly, and the old battery leaves with the tech. You get a running car, not a heavy package.

+ 01  Fitment

How the right battery gets picked

When you call, the tech asks for your year, make, model and engine. That pins down the group size, terminal layout, cold cranking amps and whether the car needs a flooded, EFB or AGM battery. Vehicles with two batteries, auxiliary batteries or start-stop systems get noted up front so the right parts are on the truck.

+ 02  Disposal

What happens to the old battery

Lead-acid batteries can't go in household trash, and most places have rules about where they can be dropped off. The tech takes the old battery back for recycling, where the lead, plastic and acid are recovered and reused. Nothing for you to haul anywhere.

Questions about car battery delivery

Can you just drop off a battery without installing it?

The service is built around installing it, because that's where the testing, fitment and registration happen. If you'd rather install it yourself, ask when you call; it depends on the local location.

How fast can a battery be delivered?

Often the same day, depending on the time you call and how busy the local tech is. Call the number on your city page for an arrival window.

Do you deliver batteries for trucks and SUVs?

Yes. Pickups, SUVs and vans are routine, including trucks that use two batteries. See truck battery replacement for details.
